Music Therapy for Medical Psychotherapy

The Institute for Music and Neurologic Function (IMNF) helps individuals through CenterLight Health System deal with the emotional challenges that often go along with rehabilitation therapy. Appointments are also available for private patients to receive music therapy services through The IMNF Music Therapy Professionals Practice. The stresses involved with serious illness and rehabilitation can often lead to depression and anxiety. The professionals at the IMNF facilitate self-expression and provide emotional support.

Not all feelings can be described verbally. Our music therapists identify specific music according to lyrics, familiar melody, key or tempo in order to facilitate self-expression and provide emotional support. Patients develop trust and a relationship with the therapist, allowing access to deep feelings and emotions through music.
